Stepping into the gym at Hampden Academy on December 12, 2025, felt like walking into a celebration of community spirit, a hallmark of Hampden Academy’s rich athletic history. We were there to capture the energy of their basketball, cheer, and track & field teams, along with others, in Hampden, Maine. It was a day filled with genuine enthusiasm and camaraderie, exactly what we love to see on picture day.
What Stood Out
We had 172 athletes to capture that day, and the energy was just phenomenal. The flow was smooth, and the pace was upbeat, thanks to the fantastic cooperation from everyone. The JV boys basketball team, in particular, brought an infectious enthusiasm, constantly hyping each other up before their shots. It was clear these kids genuinely enjoyed being there and supporting their teammates.
What really struck me was how invested the boys basketball players were in getting their individual shots just right; they genuinely wanted to make sure each photo was perfect. I also loved catching up with the skiing coaches; they were fantastic conversationalists and shared some great insights. The banter between the boys and girls basketball teams was a highlight, and the cheering team’s buddy photos were absolutely hilarious and filled with genuine excitement. And across the board, the positive vibes from everyone, including siblings from both basketball teams who were thrilled to get their photos done together, was a wonderful surprise and truly made the day special.
